Role OverviewThe Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing precision opto-mechanical subsystems for scalable, high-performance quantum hardware. The role requires a strong technical design and laboratory contribution, working closely with physicists and cross-disciplinary engineering teams to translate experimental requirements into robust optical hardware.
What You Will Do
Typical responsibilities include owning opto-mechanical subsystems, executing mechanical design and integration, using emerging optical technologies, generating stability and tolerance budgets, collaborating with engineers, and advancing design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly considerations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in optical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Extensive ownership-driven experience designing, modeling, and validating laser-based opto-mechanical systems
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for complex scalable system design and analysis
- Working knowledge of Zemax (OpticsStudio) sufficient to collaborate on optical layouts and component selection validation
