Role Overview

Support the Department of Justice's mission at the Office of Pardon Attorneys Office as a Senior Paralegal. Work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or a Project Supervisor, preparing and summarizing materials for attorneys, performing legal research, and assisting in courtroom.

What You Will Do

Compile and prepare materials for use by attorneys, summarize depositions and transcripts, maintain case files, perform legal research, and assist attorneys in courtroom.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role requires a paralegal certificate, JD, or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge of legal research tools, and hands-on familiarity with computer applications.

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate, JD, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications
  • Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
