Role Overview

As a Senior Power Construction Inspector at HDR, you will conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for buildings and facilities, conduct inspection of electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil, and monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects. You will work side-by-side with industry-recognized engineers and scientists to contribute to reliable, resilient and sustainable power systems, helping communities thrive and industries expand. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical standards and specifications, experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), and the ability to interpret construction schedules.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting and documenting observations of construction, inspecting electrical, mechanical/HVAC and site civil, coordinating field materials sampling and testing, and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized five-year electrical apprenticeship program and submission of an apprenticeship certificate, and a minimum of 10 years journey level experience, or possession of a State Master Electrician license and 5 years experience at that level
  • Sufficient journey/master level electrical construction and/or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, with emphasis on work on 120V-480V systems and familiarity with high voltage( 480- 21,000 volts) systems
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other appropriate electrical standards and specifications
  • Experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)
  • Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
