Role OverviewAs a Senior Project Manager within AEI’s Building Assessment division, your primary responsibilities will include performing increasingly complex Property Condition Assessments of existing commercial properties, monitoring new construction or renovation projects, and assisting with energy and ADA audits. The Senior Project Manager position is a unique opportunity that will expose you to all building types and all building systems.
What You Will Do
Makes forensic assessments of major building systems and distressed conditions, takes photos of site and building system conditions, conducts basic interviews and research covering property maintenance history, and writes clear and concise condition and status reports using our in-house report templates.

A candidate for this position should have a background in architecture, engineering, building forensics, or construction management, with a college degree in one of these disciplines as well as industry experience. The ability to interact with clients and other professionals during site visits, participate in conference calls with clients, and work as a valuable team member is also required.
Requirements
- 8 to 12+ years of previous experience performing forensic assessments of major building systems and conditions
- Knowledge and experience in assessing various property types
- Knowledge of the entitlement/permitting process and construction delivery methods and agreements
- Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types
- Previous construction administration, construction management, architecture, engineering or similar experience
- Previous experience performing PCAs or related projects
- Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or HUD guidelines and Property Needs Assessments
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction required
- Registered Architect (R.A.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
