Role OverviewThe selected candidate will manage complex capital commitment projects, review proposed projects, work with Sponsor Agencies, and oversee each project from conception to completion. Reporting to the Deputy/Program Director, the candidate will generate cost estimates, develop deliverable dates, supervise project staff, resolve construction or design issues, and negotiate with contractors and vendors.
What You Will Do
The selected candidate will process and review change orders, ensure safety precautions, generate reports, attend meetings, oversee contractor's performance, and supervise Project Managers and Junior Project Managers.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The selected candidate will have at least six years of full-time satisfactory experience in construction management work on capital projects, with a combination of education and experience sufficient to equal a total of ten years. The candidate will possess a New York State license as a professional engineer or registered architect, or a license from a state with reciprocity with New York State.
Requirements
- At least six years of full-time satisfactory experience in construction management work on capital projects, each one of which must have had a dollar value of at least $15,000
- At least eighteen months of experience in a managerial or consultative capacity in an organization responsible for the management of construction
- A combination of education and experience sufficient to equal a total of ten years
- Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York
