Job Description
NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is seeking a highly motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Senior Refunds Specialist in the Treasury and Payment Services Division's Refunds Unit.
Requirements
Process and approve property refund requests submitted via mail and electronically.
Research requests from individuals and financial institutions regarding payments that were not posted correctly or misapplied.
Review and approve cases completed by clerical staff.
Process account, tax adjustments and Smalls Claims Assessment Review Petition (SCARP) cases.
Conduct testing for the Property Tax System (PTS) as requested by the Unit's PTS Senior Project Manager.
Respond to customer service inquiries for both 311 calls and unit email box.
Research cases from the Office of the Taxpayer Advocate (OTA).
Handle special projects as requested by management.
