Job Description
Gridware is seeking a Senior Research Engineer with expertise in solid mechanics to build the theoretical foundation of new sensing capabilities. The role involves designing physics-based measurement algorithms, leading sensitivity analyses, and running field validation studies. The ideal candidate has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or an MS with 6+ years of experience.

Requirements

  • Design physics-based measurement algorithms.
  • Determine which physical and structural input parameters most reduce algorithm uncertainty.
  • Design and execute field validation studies.
  • Serve as the team's theoretical subject matter expert on structure mechanics.
  • Investigate alternative measurement principles.
  • Mentor team members on structural mechanics fundamentals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
