Role OverviewWorks under broad direction to plan, organize, direct, and participate in work of major research project in field of specialization for which incumbent is particularly qualified by virtue of extensive training and experience. Collaborate with experimental and clinical labs to study a variety of biological and biomedical problems related to TSG syndrome-associated developmental abnormalities and tumorigenesis as well as the role of neural stem cells and tumors in the nervous system.
What You Will Do
Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, and personally participates in major medical or scientific research project, including development and implementation of research protocols. Reviews and analyzes resulting research data; revises techniques or approaches to work problems as indicated necessary by research data.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Ideal applicants should have Ph.D., M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or degree in Biology/Genetics/neuroscience. Research experience in neuroscience, cancer biology, single-cell genomics and childhood diseases desirable.
Requirements
- PhD with major coursework in field of assignment or Master's Degree with major coursework in field of assignment or Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in field of assignment
- 6 years research experience in field of assignment; including at 1 year at the level of Research Scientist or its equivalent with a PhD or 9 years research experience in field of assignment; including at least 2 years at level of Research Scientist or its equivalent with Master's degree or 12 years of research experience in field of assignment; including at least 4 years at level of Research Scientist or its equivalent with Bachelor's degree
- Attention to detail, time management, effective communication skills, ability to problem solve and work independently, teamwork, customer/client service, and professionalism
- Minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
