Role OverviewResponsible for the direct oversight of program operations, staff, volunteers, and guests at the SVDP Eastside Shelter. Provides direction and oversight for program operations, including crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies. Implements weekend programming and activities for adults and children.
What You Will Do
Provide direction and oversight for program operations, supervise staff, manage daily programming, and ensure client preparation and attendance for classes. Complete shift supervisor and program assistant schedules, manage intakes, and track services. Monitor guest attendance and follow up on reasons for absences.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of supervisory experience, 2 years of experience working with persons who are materially poor and/or homeless, and experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, and conflict resolution. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate reflective and educational discussion.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field (preferred)
- 3 years' supervisory experience
- 2 years' experience working with persons who are materially poor and/or homeless
- Experience in crisis intervention, behavior management, and/or conflict resolution
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
