Role OverviewThe Senior Software Engineer will join the Software Platform team, building and operating the core systems that underpin Muon's internal tooling and production systems. The team is critical to the growth and success of Muon's software engineering organization. This position is hybrid, requiring on-site work in San Jose, CA three days per week.
What You Will Do
Design, build, and evolve high-performance systems, work across the stack, and cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end platform capabilities, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent industry experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust
- Experience in distributed systems, backend services, or platform development
- Experience building and operating mission-critical services
- Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure
- Strong debugging, profiling, and code optimization skills
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading medium to large technical initiatives
