Role OverviewThe Software Engineer at South College will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between various software systems and platforms used across the college. This role will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, implement integration solutions, and ensure seamless interoperability between systems.
What You Will Do
Design, develop, and maintain integrations between various platforms, including student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), financial systems, and other business-critical applications. Implement and configure middleware platforms, ETL tools, and integration frameworks to facilitate data exchange and workflow automation.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript, with experience in developing custom APIs and web services. Strong understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and standards (e.g., REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth). Familiarity with database systems, SQL queries, and data modeling concepts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years proven experience as an Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar role, with expertise in designing and implementing complex integration solutions.
- Experience working with cloud-based middleware and integration platforms (e.g., Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus) and ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend).
- Experience interacting with data layers across both on-premises and cloud environments, including experience working with Data Warehouses (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL Server) and related data storage/retrieval solutions.
