Senior Software Engineer

Vizient is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of scalable, secure, and user-centered software solutions. The role will design, develop, test, and deliver software while working closely with product managers, business stakeholders, architects and data scientists to deliver small, independently demonstrable increments.

What You Will Do

Design and develop scalable applications, services, APIs, and user experiences. Build cohesive solutions that support the movement of information, decisions, workflows, and actions across business processes. Develop secure REST APIs and event-driven integrations using appropriate messaging and Kafka-based patterns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Six or more years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong experience developing production software using Java and Spring Boot or comparable backend technology
• Experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript or comparable frontend technologies
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed services
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query development, and performance optimization
• Experience with cloud-native development and deployment
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and source-control workflows
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, secure coding, and data protection
• Ability to work effectively with product, architecture, data, quality engineering, and business stakeholders
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
• Experience delivering functionality incrementally through small, independently testable units of work
• Ability to understand the user and business problem before implementing a solution
• Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and attention to detail from requirements through delivery and production support
• Collaborates effectively and communicates clearly with product, engineering, data, quality, architecture, and business stakeholders
• Welcomes feedback, exercises sound judgment, continuously improves, and balances delivery speed with quality, security, maintainability, and long-term value
