Role Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer at HDR, you will lead technical roles on bridge design projects, perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for transportation projects, and supervise junior engineers. You will work on projects that include bridge, box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.

Serve in a lead technical role on bridge design projects, perform complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects, work on projects that typically include bridge, box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects, and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who has a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, familiarity with engineering software packages, and a minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience. Preference is given to candidates currently residing in the NY Metropolitan Area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
  • Experience in design calculations and layouts
  • Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
  • Understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
