Role OverviewAs the Senior Technical Program Manager for Edge Network Scaling Engineering, you'll drive programs that shape how Amazon's global network infrastructure evolves. You'll own complex, cross-functional initiatives that transform how the WAN edge is designed, deployed, and scaled across thousands of Amazon Operations sites worldwide, with direct impact measured in tens of millions of dollars annually. This role combines tactical execution with strategic influence—you'll manage the full program lifecycle from architecture validation through fleet-wide deployment, negotiate resources and priorities across engineering teams, and make deliberate trade-offs between short-term delivery and long-term architectural goals.
What You Will Do
You'll work on initiatives like scaling native cloud network access from pilot programs to fleet-wide rollout, establishing vendor qualification strategies that make adding WAN capacity a routine operation, and building the governance structures that enable consistent program execution across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You'll also mentor other program managers on best practices and contribute to technical assessments within the Edge organization. This role operates with limited guidance—you'll help define both the program strategy and technology solutions as they're actively being shaped.
