Role OverviewAs a Fleet Documentation Technical Writer/Editor team member at GDMS, you will be working in a team environment to create and maintain Fire Control System documentation products. These documents are critical for sailors to operate and maintain a complex submarine-based weapon system.
What You Will Do
Reviewing work products with to identify phrasing, grammar, and formatting defects, managing multiple projects concurrently while ensuring both quality standards and schedule are consistently met, developing and delivering documentation per MIL standards and in accordance with strict schedule.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate has experience working as an editor and adhering to multiple style guides, experience editing or authoring documentation in accordance with military standards, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF, and experience with XML based authoring standards such as S1000D.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
