Job Description
The Senior Traffic Design Engineer is a vital member of the Indiana Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Division, responsible for design, review, and maintenance of traffic control devices, highway lighting, and other engineering elements impacting the movement of people and vehicles. This role involves comprehensive project management, technical expertise, and contributing to policies and standards, with a focus on meeting state and federal regulations. The position works within the central office of Indiana's Traffic Engineering Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (civil engineering preferred)
  • Registered Professional Engineer license in Indiana
  • At least six (6) years of experience in engineering (civil engineering is preferred)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Broad knowledge of civil engineering theories and procedures
