Role OverviewAs a Senior Traffic Engineer at HDR, you'll provide design oversight for roadway, lighting, and traffic signal design plans, and assist in providing oversight of traffic control and sequencing plans throughout the construction phase of the project. You'll serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization, resolving problems of greater scope and complexity. You'll also organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing design oversight, assisting in project management, and performing other duties as needed. You'll work on large projects, such as interstates, freeways, and highways, and use software packages like VISSIM, TransModeler, HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic, and MicroStation.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in ITS and traffic engineering for urban and rural highways, major and minor interchanges and intersections
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience using HCS, CORSIM, Synchro/SIM Traffic and other software packages
- Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to work in a team environment
