Role Overview

The Senior UC/Voice Engineer will work as part of a team to design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise voice and telephony solutions in accordance with Air Force enterprise standards. The position is responsible for planning voice environments, developing procedures, and maintaining required equipment. The engineer will also evaluate vendor hardware and software, make recommendations, and maintain detailed records.

Requirements

  • Secret-level DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT
  • 8–12 years of experience in a Unified Communications role
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • In-depth hands-on experience with Avaya Aura, Session Border Controllers, and SIP-based sessions
  • Strong network debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to create and maintain operational procedures and topology maps using Visio
  • Firm understanding of databases, Windows servers, and Linux-based operating systems
  • Strong working knowledge of telecom technologies, including ISDN/T-1, Voice Protection Systems, IP address management, DHCP, and DNS
  • Strong working knowledge of telephony/VoIP standards and protocols, including SIP and H.323
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project-management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to lift approximately 50+ lbs
  • Critical-thinking skills for problem identification and resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
