Role Overview

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, Water Resources, the Senior Water Resources Engineer will support the management, operations, governance and regulatory compliance for tailings and water management at Red Dog Mine. Responsibilities include initiating and conducting long- and short-term water management projects, development of budgets and cost management, and may involve daily supervision of consultants, contractors, and/or guidance to operation groups.

What You Will Do

The Senior Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for site water balance forecasts and updates, lead the development, updates and improvements of water and load balance models in Goldsim, and support the integration of water management throughout operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, Geologic, Environmental, Chemical, or related field)
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years previous experience in mining, mineral processing, or water management
  • Demonstrated proficiency with water and load balance models and associated software (GoldSIM) is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Proven capacity in practical problem solving and critical thinking
