Requirements

• Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines
• Work well with peers in a congenial work environment and maintain compassion and dignity towards residents
• Adhere to Viva Senior Living's attendance policies and follow the terms and conditions of employment
• Read, write, speak and understand English
• Maintain the highest standards in caring and servicing the needs of the residents and residents' family members and loved ones
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
• Provide meals and beverages to residents in the dining room
• Prepare the dining room for meal service
• Serve resident meal in courses as often as possible
• Ensure resident is satisfied with presentation of meal prior to leaving table
• Inform kitchen of any resident concerns regarding meal
• Remain available during meal service for assistance when/if needed
• Notify medical staff immediately on any medical emergency or any change in eating habits
• Work closely in a team setting with Food and Beverage Director, Dining Room Supervisor, Cooks, and fellow dining staff and nursing
• Follow community policies and procedures regarding safety standards
• Follow community policies and procedures regarding food sanitation
• Wear appropriate uniform and nametag and adhere to hygiene standards
• Clean up vases, change tablecloths if necessary and wipe down chairs and chair legs if dirty from mealtime
• Keep the dining room floor clean and vacuum between all meals
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and accommodating attitude towards residents always
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director, Dining Room Manager, and Executive Director
