Service Coordinator

The Service Coordinator will support individuals with daily living tasks, teach skills, and help them participate in community activities. The role is ideal for someone who is organized, energetic, and passionate about helping others live full, independent lives. The position is part of a team that provides services to individuals in the Ocean View area of Norfolk.

What You Will Do

Daily responsibilities include supporting individuals with daily living tasks, teaching skills based on individualized service plans, and helping them participate in community activities. The Service Coordinator will also provide behavioral guidance, administer first aid, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

• Ability to organize and prioritize work tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to present yourself professionally
• Ability to self-direct work and manage tasks independently
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to participate in and contribute to a participative management structure
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Knowledge of the field of disabilities
• Skill in using behavioral support practices
• Ability to complete required training
• Skill in decision making, judgment, and action during emergency or crisis situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Skill in locating and accessing community resources
• Valid Virginia driver’s license
• Satisfactory criminal history background check
