Role OverviewThe YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven professional to lead the wellness department at the Chickahominy Family YMCA. The role involves planning, implementing, and supervising wellness and sports programs, as well as overseeing staff and communicating with members.
What You Will Do
Develop and implement innovative wellness programming, oversee staff, work with members to reach their wellness goals, and oversee the wellness floor and equipment. Develop sports programming, oversee part-time staff, and communicate with program participants.

The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and computer proficiency. The ability to effectively coach staff and train and evaluate staff on proper exercise instruction is essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a wellness-related field
- At least one year of related experience in wellness management
- Previous sports management experience
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- National Personal Training certification (ACSM, ACE, CSCS)
- ACE or AFAA Group Exercise certification
