Role Overview

The Shelter Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the work of volunteers, community service clients, and assigned staff. They assist residents staying in the Corps shelter overnight and during the day, perform client intake procedures, and maintain accurate and complete records.

What You Will Do

The Shelter Manager will oversee meal times, oversee showers, assign bed numbers, distribute towels and linens, secure and distribute client medications, and administer client sexual offender checks, Breathalyzer testing, and drug testing. They will also input client information into HMIS accurately and in accordance with established HMIS and ESG requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two years experience performing security or social services work in a shelter or similar environment with one year supervisory experience
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Basic First Aid certification
