Role Overview

The Shelter Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the work of volunteers, community service clients, and assigned staff. They assist residents staying in the Corps shelter overnight and during the day, perform client intake procedures, and maintain accurate and complete records. The Shelter Manager ensures the facility is maintained in a neat and proper order and ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.

What You Will Do

The Shelter Manager will perform client intake procedures, prepare client intake records, and maintain accurate and complete records. They will also oversee meal times, assign bed numbers, and distribute towels, linens, and personal hygiene items. The Shelter Manager will also administer client sexual offender checks, Breathalyzer testing, and drug testing as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two years experience performing security or social services work in a shelter or similar environment with one year supervisory experience
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Basic First Aid certification
