Role OverviewThe Shelter Monitor position involves monitoring activities at the shelter, maintaining a safe environment, and providing emergency coverage as needed. The role requires on-site presence, assistance to program participants, and reporting incidents and maintenance needs.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include assisting clients/participants with paperwork, monitoring individuals entering and exiting the shelter, enforcing guest policy, and handling donations. The Shelter Monitor will also perform light-maintenance and janitorial tasks, respond to emergencies, and provide information and feedback to the Shelter Operations Manager.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, and basic computer skills. Experience providing services to low-income and/or people experiencing homelessness is a plus.
