Role OverviewThe Shift Engineer is responsible for performing intermediate skilled tasks in troubleshooting, operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of commercial air conditioning and heating systems, refrigeration, water treatment, controls, and all other building mechanical and electrical systems.
What You Will Do
Perform operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of mechanical air conditioning and heating systems, air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers, medical refrigeration units, hot/cold water lines, expansion joints, plumbing, and electric motors.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must obtain a MD Grade 5 (or higher) Stationary Engineer License within three (3) months of hire. Pay increases to $33.57/hour once certified.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- OSHA 10 and CFC certifications
- Ability to interact effectively with people with disabilities
- Familiarity with building automation systems
- Ability to read blueprints and pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical control drawings
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
- Good judgment, discretion, and initiative
- Self-directed, motivated, and reliable, with strong follow-through and attendance
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
