Job Summary:
Responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate shipping, receiving, and movement of materials, supplies, and products. This position requires candidates to be able to work 2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 10:00pm.
What you will do:
Ensure all work is performed with safety as the top priority.
Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing slips, and inspect for damage.
Unload trucks and move materials to appropriate storage or staging areas.
Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments with accuracy and care.
Coordinate shipping schedules with carriers and internal departments.
Ensure proper documentation accompanies all shipments (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms).
Maintain inventory accuracy through proper labeling and storage of goods.
Use forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment to move heavy materials safely.
Perform regular inventory counts and cycle checks.
Maintain a clean, organized shipping and receiving area.
Operate within a warehouse management or ERP system for order tracking and inventory updates.
Follow all company procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Handle documentation filing and digital record-keeping accurately.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping and warehouse processes.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Carry out physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing.
Assist in training new team members as required.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/ Skills/ Knowledge:
Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and labels.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Outlook, Excel, data entry).
Capable of handling time-sensitive materials and meeting shipping deadlines.
Understanding of workplace safety, WHMIS, and material handling best practices.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Forklift certification an asset.
Experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment is an asset.
Experience working with ERP or inventory systems preferred.
Knowledge of freight carriers, shipping practices, and logistics coordination.
