Job Description
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate recordkeeping of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and loading and unloading trucks while ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy and ensure proper labeling and loading procedures are followed.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
  • Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items.
  • Keep files of goods shipped and received.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area and follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Oversee movement of products between US and Mexico facilities.
  • Track inventory and monitor stock levels of finished products.
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure the availability of products for shipment.
