Job Description
Role Overview

The Site Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating administrative activities related to rail switching activities. They maintain all required billing and operational records, and oversee administrative matters such as payroll, training policies, and budget allocations. The Site Manager also interprets policies and procedures for subordinates and monitors activities to ensure compliance.

What You Will Do

The Site Manager will analyze records of daily operations, confer with department heads to establish policies and procedures, and discuss railcar movements with customers. They will also be responsible for purchasing and receipt of materials, monitoring inventory, and preparing requisition forms. Additionally, the Site Manager will analyze productivity and budget reports, and interpret policies and procedures for subordinates.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • knowledge of Lotus Notes, Internet software, Excel Spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Word Word Processing software
  • valid motor vehicle operator's driver license
  • safety training/certification as required by customers and TGS at all TGS locations
