Small Engine Technician

Requirements

• Diagnose mechanical issues in small engine-powered equipment
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburettor cleanings
• Repair or replace faulty components such as belts, spark plugs, and fuel systems
• Provide customers with clear explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance recommendations
• Document service work performed and ensure accurate records are kept for each job
• Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and operates at optimal performance
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
• Stay current with new small engine technologies and repair methods
• High school diploma or GED
• Basic knowledge of small engine mechanics
• 1+ years of experience working with small engines
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot engine issues
• Certification in small engine repair
• 3+ years of experience in small engine maintenance and repair
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Previous customer service experience
