Job Description
The Small Engine Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing small engines used in outdoor power equipment, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, and snow blowers. The technician advises customers on necessary repairs or maintenance, ensures that equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications, and maintains detailed service documentation to support both in-shop and virtual service interactions.

Requirements

  • Diagnose mechanical issues in small engine-powered equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, spark plug inspections, and carburettor cleanings
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as belts, spark plugs, and fuel systems
  • Provide customers with clear explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance recommendations
  • Document service work performed and ensure accurate records are kept for each job
  • Ensure all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and operates at optimal performance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
