Role Overview

As a Smokehouse Pit Master, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for guests, providing personal interactions, and maintaining operating standards. You will be the face of the Smokehouse department, actively engaging guests and demonstrating superior guest service. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of products meets Lowes Foods standards and maintaining sanitation and safety throughout the department.

What You Will Do

Your main responsibilities will include interacting with guests and hosts in a fun and friendly manner, creating an engaging environment, and actively engaging guests through freshly prepared Smokehouse samples and suggestive selling. You will also be responsible for operating the department according to strict merchandising and operational standards, ensuring the quality of product meets Lowes Foods standards, and maintaining sanitation and safety throughout the department.

  • Knowledge of deli as well as meat department operations
  • Ability to supervise people including training and development
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to effectively communicate with, and take direction from supervision
  • Ability to work well with computers
  • Must be at least 18 years old
