Job Description
The position of Social Worker II, Criminal Justice is a part-time role that requires providing services to students with disabilities who attend a Correctional Education school within the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services facilities. The successful candidate will work primarily with the Correctional Education Special Education Coordinator and provide counseling services, conduct informal assessments and/or observations, and collaborate with staff to develop IEPs and 504 Plans.

Requirements

  • Provide quality and timely in-person counseling services in accordance with students' IEP goal(s), objective(s), and related service hours
  • Attend child-find, IEP, and 504 Plan meetings at assigned schools to assist in student eligibility, program planning, and revision of documents
  • Conduct consultation sessions with students' teacher(s), parent/guardian, related service provider(s), DPSCS case manager(s) and/or the Special Education Coordinator as part of the student's interdisciplinary team
