Job Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for a Software Developer Section Supervisor. Responsible for supervising development staff that support applications based upon a variety of technologies. This position reports to the Software & Data Systems Bureau Chief. The position requires a minimum of 4 years of work experience in software development or related field and 2 years of experience managing software developers or related staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology management, business management, computer science, or information systems
  • 4 years of work experience in one or a combination of software development, web development, GIS development, database administration, or related field
  • 2 years of experience managing software developers, GIS professionals, database administrators, or data warehouse/data analytics staff
  • Knowledge of Java, Agile Development, ServiceNow platform, ESRI technology and GIS solutions, database platforms, or web development tools and solutions
  • Proficient in contract, vendor, and procurement management
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and innovative technologies
