Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Software Development Specialist 4 to provide solution designs and collaborate with IT Architecture staff and IT Managers to develop solutions that meet agency requirements.

Requirements

  • Extensive technical knowledge of software development
  • Ability to receive general direction and provide solution designs
  • Collaboration with IT Architecture staff and IT Managers
  • Analysis of business case for solution designs
  • Authoring portions of the business case
  • Utilization of software development tools and languages
  • Mentoring team members and ensuring project timelines are met
  • Conducting detailed alternative analyses and gathering end user requirements
  • Ensuring current and future business process flows are clearly defined and documented
  • Consulting with end users, technicians, vendors, management, and other stakeholders
  • Leading design reviews and providing post-production support
  • Developing solutions to complex issues through independent research
  • Tracking and verifying code releases to UAT and production environments
  • Planning and conducting formal mentorship activities
  • Collaboration with IT Managers to develop project plans
  • Editing or creating enterprise or IT artifacts
  • Building expertise in leading complex initiatives and understanding organizational improvement frameworks
  • Developing pass/fail testing criteria and assessing overall system performance
  • Overseeing performance and load testing, finalizing implementation plans, procedures, and schedules
  • Conducting lessons learned sessions and coordinating improvements to enterprise testing processes
  • Understanding technical environments and their impact on software execution
  • Performing code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with standards
