Role Overview

The Software Engineer (Algorithm) will join the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC). The role will involve generating software design artifacts, implementing Java-based software changes, supporting design and code reviews, and supporting software testing and the resolution of issues arising from testing.

The candidate will be involved in presenting developed designs, actively participating in agile planning and execution using established C2BMC processes, and working with multiple disciplinary teams to ensure mission success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university
  • 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
  • Experience and skills for success in the role include full life-cycle development, Java application development or alternative OO development experience (additional experience with MATLAB is a plus), Unix/Linux, software implementation of mathematical algorithms, Agile development, DevSecOps, and systems integration
  • Basic experience designing and developing complex mathematical algorithms
  • Experience in problem-solving, including the ability to review system behavior issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
