Job Description
Cartesia is hiring a Software Engineer, Databases to architect Cartesia’s data systems for the next orders of magnitude of scale, implement data governance, and empower engineers and non-engineers with easy, secure database tooling and access. Our mission is to build the next generation of AI: ubiquitous, interactive intelligence that runs wherever you are.

Requirements

  • Develop and evolve database platforms to support 100x+ scale while preserving strong guarantees around uptime, latency, and correctness
  • Design data storage architectures that operate smoothly across AWS, GCP, on-prem / first-party infrastructure, third-party deployments, and additional environments
  • Enable faster development across the company by providing engineers and non-engineers alike with high-quality, reliable database tooling and primitives
  • Create and deploy secure access control mechanisms so sensitive data is only accessible by authorized users
  • Build scalable data governance systems for permissions, auditing, and compliance (e.g., data residency), including IAM policies, ACLs, and security controls used across thousands of users and services
