Software Engineer II

Join Fandango's Platform Operations team as a Software Engineer II, where you'll help build and enhance the tools and systems that improve developer productivity across Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, and Fandango at Home. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Platform Operations, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers to develop platform capabilities, improve internal tooling, and contribute to scalable engineering solutions.

What You Will Do

Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of internal platform tools and services under the guidance of senior engineers. Build and enhance backend services, APIs, and data models that support platform capabilities across multiple products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education or practical experience
• Demonstrated programming experience through internships, co-ops, academic projects, open-source contributions, or up to 2 years of professional software development experience
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as JavaScript or TypeScript
• Exposure to modern web development frameworks such as React through coursework, projects, or professional experience
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, databases, and software development fundamentals
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
• Understanding of software testing concepts and a willingness to write maintainable, well-tested code
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a desire to continuously learn and grow as a software engineer
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
