Role Overview

As a Software Release Management Engineer I, you will help support and improve the release management processes that enable software delivery across Daimler Truck's growing Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) portfolio. You will contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of release management standards, processes, metrics, and tools. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to build expertise in release management process governance while partnering with engineering, product, systems, validation, integration, and program management teams.

What You Will Do

Support ongoing development and maintenance of FROP and BROP processes, maintain process documentation, standards, templates, and guidance materials, assist in evaluating process effectiveness and identifying improvement opportunities, support adoption of release management best practices across stakeholder groups, collect, maintain, and analyze release management metrics, support development of dashboards and performance reporting, monitor process health indicators and identify trends, provide data-driven insights to support continuous improvement efforts, participate in initiatives that improve release management maturity and efficiency, help identify bottlenecks, gaps, and opportunities for process standardization, support implementation of process enhancements and new capabilities, document lessons learned and contribute to organizational knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 0-3 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, project coordination, process management, or a related area
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle concepts
  • Interest in software release management, process governance, metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a cross-functional environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
