Job Description

Requirements
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the areas of recycling, composting, sustainability, and waste management for a municipality, state or federal regulatory agency, service provider, or within a consultant environment
Knowledge of circular economy and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
Knowledge of Environmental Justice
Knowledge of solid waste management systems (collection through disposal and end markets)
Familiarity with environmental and municipal policy processes
Knowledge of current trends in waste management, including recycling, composting, reuse, circular economy, product stewardship, and their implications and connection to sustainable practices
Demonstrated research, analysis, and interpretation skills for problem solving
Self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of TRUE Advisor and or SWANA Zero Waste
Knowledge of New England’s specific waste system and stakeholders
Ability to travel for projects/conferences
Preference for local candidates (greater Boston area preferred)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
