Job Description
A Sonographer (Ultrasound Tech) is responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound exams, maintaining patient workflow, and quality assessment. They must have a high standard of medical ethics and be self-motivated to increase their understanding of the field.

Requirements

  • Validate patient order and review relevant prior imaging
  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment
  • Perform ultrasound examination in accordance with departmental protocols
  • Completed structured reporting document, identify exam limitations, and review exam with radiologist as needed
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers and administrators
  • Follow proper procedure to report equipment failures
  • Participates in regulatory activities
  • Participates in committees and process improvement projects
  • Maintain required credentials and licenses
  • Adhere to hospital safety and regulatory standards
