Job Description
Be part of the opening team for our brand-new upscale restaurant Oribu! We are looking for a Sous Chef to lead and inspire our kitchen staff in the creation of culinary masterpieces. The desired candidate must have good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi rolling techniques with the ability to work both fast and accurately.

Requirements

  • Menu planning and assisting with the plating presentation
  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time
  • Hiring and training of kitchen staff to prepare and cook all menu items
  • Collaborating with restaurant operations team
  • Optimizing staff productivity
  • Manage kitchen workflow during peak times or when a station needs additional support
  • Managing product inventory and placing orders as needed
  • Ensuring best practices are followed for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Monitoring new industry trends
  • Incorporating feedback from staff and guests to make improvements
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, coaching, training, and development of team members
  • Ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt standards
