Role Overview

Salem State University invites applications for a full-time, temporary faculty member specializing in Spanish Education. The successful candidate will serve as the Lead Faculty member for Spanish teacher licensure programs, including the 4+1 BA/MEd with Initial Licensure and the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Spanish.

What You Will Do

Teaching, advising, scholarship, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester.

Requirements

  • PhD or EdD in Spanish, World Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field
  • Superior proficiency in Spanish
  • Possession of or eligibility for Spanish teacher licensure at the PK–12 level
  • Demonstrated expertise in proficiency-based language instruction and assessment
  • Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or supervising pre-service teachers
  • Experience and ability to coordinate clinical experiences and work effectively with PK–12 partners
