Role OverviewThe Special Circumstances Instructional Assistant I (SCIA I) will assist in a caring and supportive environment to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful and productive citizens. The O'Farrell Charter Schools is seeking innovative teachers who build strong relationships with students and value autonomy and collegiality. The role involves providing support to students and staff in a non-classroom based blended program for students seeking an alternative learning environment.

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the SCIA I include assisting students and staff in a non-classroom based blended program, providing support to students and staff, and contributing to a caring and supportive environment.

Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and/or an Associate's Degree (or higher); or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university
- Completion of post-high school courses in Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, or Special Education is desirable
- One year of related or equivalent classroom assistance or childcare experience is required
