Special Ed Classroom Assistant position in a Chicago Public Schools school, assisting Special Education teachers with students with various disabilities.

Requirements

  • Assist Special Education teachers in elementary and high schools
  • Lift and position non-ambulatory students
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene services
  • Assist students with orthopedic impairments
  • Accompany students to swimming pools and medical clinics
  • Feed students unable to do so themselves
  • Take notes for students unable to do so themselves
  • Correct homework assignments and examination materials
  • Maintain written records of students' behavior
  • Attend and participate in workshops and in-service training
