This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Alice West Fleet Elementary School.
This position is a term position that is effective for FY25 through June 18, 2026 only. You would need to reapply for a position for FY27.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate
instructional materials
Maintains safe and orderly environment
Communicates with parents/guardians
Maintains complete and accurate student records
Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
Monitors and assesses student achievement
Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
EXPERIENCE:
Teaching experience in special education
Knowledge of best instructional practices
Ability to integrate technology
Experience in educational and instructional leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
Special Education endorsement.
Preferred qualifications related to SPED Resource Teacher - Dual role
Must have an endoresment in Special Education: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Pre-K-12)
Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
