Role Overview

The Special Education Academic Coach II is responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. Special Education Academic Coaches are essential to maintaining our low student-teacher ratio and ensuring all students get the individualized attention requisite for success.

What You Will Do

Duties include: assisting teachers with individual students, facilitating small group and individual instruction, monitoring student progress, and providing input for evaluation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • An Associate's degree (or higher) or 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading (or readiness), writing (or readiness), and mathematics (or readiness)
  • Experience in a school/learning environment
  • Experience with ABA strategies
  • Experience with student medical needs
