Role Overview

Provide face-to-face instruction to students with learning disabilities, mild intellectual disability, and emotional behavioral disorder. Adapt to changing school and district needs. Create a climate that promotes respect, tolerance, and peaceful problem-solving.

What You Will Do

Instruct students through lectures, discussions, and visual aids. Prepare lessons and administer tests to evaluate student progress. Use computers and audio-visual aids to supplement presentations. Assist students with extra help and guide them with adjustment or academic problems.

Requirements

  • SRT4-Certification in Special Education General Curriculum P-12 or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner
  • Student management
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and parents in a professional manner
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning environments
  • Knowledge of school safety & security procedures
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
