Role Overview

Teach students in a 9-12 grade setting, with a focus on special education. The teacher will work with students who require additional support, and will work collaboratively with other educators to ensure student success. The teacher will be responsible for creating a respectful and inclusive classroom environment, and will prioritize student safety and well-being.

What You Will Do

The teacher will instruct students in assigned classes, track student progress, and develop individualized education plans. They will also work with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to determine instructional and social needs of students. The teacher will design engaging classroom instruction, and will use technology resources to personalize student learning.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
  • A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role
  • Physical Requirements: Light Work: Exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, or up to ten (10) pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
