Job Description
Role Overview

Teach students with diverse learning needs, work collaboratively with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers, and participate in a multidisciplinary team to promote students' well-being. The role involves setting goals for individualized education plans, tracking student progress, and providing instruction and discipline. The teacher will work under the supervision of the school principal and be responsible for creating a respectful classroom culture that appreciates the cultural, racial, and linguistic diversity of students.

What You Will Do

Design engaging classroom instruction, assess student learning, and respond to student needs. The teacher will also prioritize student safety, personalize student learning, and advocate for the district's vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
  • Valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with the appropriate endorsement(s) for the role
  • Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile
